Roma students and graduates as well as educational staff of the “foster school” and of the selected targeted schools for the intervention will be identified to create a network of allies aiming to combat Roma school drop-out. The members of the Allies Network will be trained on skills and competences necessary for the transfer and implementation of the “good practice” of inclusive school culture from the “foster school” to the schools targeted by the intervention.

Allies Network and Capacitity Building Activities

1. Selection of 15 Roma students and/or graduates of the “foster school” to fullfil the role of Mentors to other Roma students in the selected targeted schools for the intervention.
2. Selection of 5, in total, teachers of the “forster school” and of experts on Roma social integration, in order to create Coaches a. for the selected educational staff of the selected targeted schools for the intervention and b. for the mentors of the “foster school”
3. Selection of 15 teachers of the selected schools to be trained as Tutors for the Roma students of the selected targeted schools
4. Training of the selected students and/or graduates of the “foster school” to acquire the role of mentor for the Roma students of the selected targeted schools

  • 16 cognitive oriented sessions
  • 24 skill building sessions

5. Training of he teachers of the targeted schools to act as Tutors of their Roma students

  • 12 training sessions on best practices promoting an inclusive schooling culture, counselling on psycho-social development, and parent management counselling

6. Conduction of 6 Workshops on Child Protection policies
7. Development of an integrated toolkit with sections for young Roma Mentors and Tutors
