Στο πλαίσιο της πιλοτικής εφαρμογής του έργου Peer2Peer, υλοποιήθηκαν 421 συνεδρίες “mentoring” διενεργήθηκαν, ξεπερνώντας κατά πολύ τον αρχικό σχεδιασμό (300 συνεδρίες), στο σύνολο των «σχολείων – αποδεκτών». The mentoring sessions were carried out from February to May 2022, and 141 students participated, in total, of Primary and Secondary Schools of West Attica (51 women/girls and 90 men/boys). The distribution of mentoring sessions per school was as follows:
- • 2nd Primary School of Ano Liosia – Number of mentoring sessions 51 (34 mentoring sessions addressed to boys and 17 mentoring sessions addressed to girls).
- • 3rdPrimary School of Zefyri – Number of mentoring sessions 200 (97 mentoring sessions addressed to boys and 103 mentoring sessions addressed to girls).
- • 7thPrimary School of Aspropyrgos – Number of mentoring sessions 40 (30 mentoring sessions addressed to boys and 10 mentoring sessions addressed to girls).
- • 3rdLower Secondary School of Aspropyrgos – Number of mentoring sessions 130 (112 mentoring sessions addressed to men and 18 mentoring sessions addressed to women).
The goals of “mentoring” in the context of the implementation of the Peer2Peer intervention were to help the mentees to:
- • adapt to the school environment,
- • develop social and communication skills,
- • enhance their talents and inclinations,
- • expand their circle of friends,
- • boost their confidence,
- • strengthen their bond with the school,
- • recognize education as an asset.
To achieve these goals, each P2P Mentee had 6 mentoring sessions discussing the following suggested topics:
- • I get to know my mentee – I get to know my mentor
- • We set goals together
- • What I want from me
- • My school – My teacher – My classmates
- • I talk about my family
- • What we agreed on – What we achieved
At the end of each session, a brief report was prepared by the “P2P Coaches” in collaboration with the mentors, which included the key findings of the latter from the things referred to during the session.
